HR Research “55plus”

Survey

Our motivation for the Employee 55plus study

Demographic change is transforming the labour market in the long term. On the one hand, the proportion of older workers is continuously increasing. On the other hand, the shortage of skilled workers is worsening as more people are retiring than are entering the labour market.

Demographic change is transforming the labour market in the long term. On the one hand, the proportion of older workers is continuously increasing. On the other hand, the shortage of skilled workers is worsening as more people are retiring than are entering the labour market. At the same time, technological change and artificial intelligence in particular are leading to a rapid change in requirements and work in general. Maintaining employability is therefore becoming more challenging for workers of all ages.

As a company that provides outplacement, talent management and HR consulting services, we have noticed that employees aged 55 and over are finding it very difficult to find a suitable new job. In addition, employees aged 50 and over are less actively encouraged to take on new tasks and functions within the company.

How does your employer deal with demographic change and its impact on your staff and the labour market? How do you assess the potential of older workers, what measures are being taken to address this and where is there a need for further solutions?
